Key roles for Bond 25 revealed in casting call

Three key roles in the forthcoming Bond movie have been revealed in a casting call.

Picked up by Bond news site MI6-HQ, it appears that the production is currently seeking what is likely to be the movie’s main villain, a female lead and a henchman.

The ‘male leading role’ is for that of a 30-60-year old man, from Russia or the Balkans, with necessary characteristics listed as ‘charismatic, powerful, innovative, cosmopolitan, bright, cold and vindictive’.

The ‘female leading role’, meanwhile, will also be Russian or Balkan, and must be ‘very striking’ with ‘strong physical/fighting/stage combat skills required’.

The character is described as ‘intelligent, brave, fierce and charming. She’s witty and skillful. A survivor’.

Finally, the ‘male supporting role’ sounds very much like a henchman, with the casting notes specifying ‘Maori’ descent.

They must have ‘advanced physical/fighting/stage combat skills’ and be ‘authoritative, cunning, ruthless & loyal’.

It’s noted that a similar casting call from 2014 unearthed the character of the silent, metal-thumbnailed assassin Mr Hinx, eventually played by Dave Bautista, in Spectre.

With Danny Boyle behind the camera, and his long-time screenwriter John Hodge providing the story, the five to six-month shoot is set to begin this coming December.

So far untitled, Bond 25 will then hit cinemas on November 8, 2019.
